Award-winning Indigenous kitchen with no dairy, wheat, or cane sugar - the menu at the Guthrie leans into bison, elk, and oysters, but the stuffed chilies and V-marked sides still make a real vegan meal.

What to Order

Stuffed Dried Chilies
Wild rice, tepary bean and hominy picadillo, vanilla black bean puree, guacachile, tortillas - the lone vegan main on a page of bison and elk. Contains nuts.
Mustard Green Salad
Puffed wild rice, grilled squash and corn, tepary beans, maple pepita dressing - vegan as written, and on the weekend brunch menu too.
The V-marked sides
Marichou, hand-harvested wild rice, beans + chicos, and the sweet potatoes are vegan as written - order a few and share. The beans and sweet potatoes carry nuts.
Read the V's
The dinner and brunch menus mark vegan dishes V; V+ means it needs a swap. The late-night menu flips the key (VG for vegan) and still tags the whitefish tostadas V, so don't trust its marks.

Good to Know

  • Formerly Owamni: moved into the Guthrie Theater (806 S 2nd St) in June 2026 under the new name Indigena by Owamni. Reservations on OpenTable; walk-ins welcome after 9pm.
